Shortest length cat5 patch cable question?

What is the shortest recommended cat5 or 5e patch cable I can use without any problems? I now have 3' cables running from the patch panel to the switch, I would like to use 1' cables but heard it can cause problems because it doesn't have enough twists, is that true?...Thanks in advance

I could be very wrong. But I "thought" one meter was the minimum.

yes its true, 1 meter is the bare minimum that I reccomend.

Thanks for the replies, I was thinking the same thing. If one meter (3 feet) is the minimum then why do they sell pre-made one and two foot patch cables? What would you use them for?

we imply optimum, not premade use shorter if you want .
