Shortening [ eliminating ] cables

I am doing a new rebuild.I want to use my 750 watt non modular PSU which has served me well. I want to eliminated all the extra cables which I know I won't need. Any suggestions on how to do this?
I have one idea and that is to cut each cable and hot glue the ends of each individual wire.

Now that I think about it going inside to do it would be a major headache trying to locate each cable. Working outside is the way to go. I have way to many cables that I won't need for my build. If there should be a problem in the far future I would just replace it with a modular one.I am 70 years old and I believe this is my last build.

Why don't you cut them and just use crimp on terminals (dead-end terminals, not spades or what have you. I don't know the nomenclature.) I've considered that very same thing with the cornucopuia of cables spewing out of my TX750...

This is a vote for zip ties. You can buy a bag of 100 for $1.79 at Fry's. I used those today, spent about 15 minutes on a case with 600W PSU. In the end it was not as clean as a modular, but it looked much better, and besides being easy, it organizes your cables so you don't feel like you have to have a rat's nest 🙁

Just too many individual cables.

On my original configuration, I bundled the excess power cables in the bottom HDD tray... out of the way and nil effect on airflow.

My recent update I put the excess behind the mobo header... much cleaner.

...but it's still a lot of cable!

I wouldn't suggest doing something that would almost permanently disable some of the connectors of the PSU. Using your method of cutting the wire short and hot glue the ends, I suggest cutting the wires to length, using a glue with low viscosity but able to hold a heat shrink tube at the ends of each wire. Probably glue is not required but I mentioned it just for extra safety.

I just don't think hot glue is a good idea... glue isn't necessarily a good insulator and I would worry about stray current grounding out against the chassis or another component.

I won't be using hot glue. I found a product called Liquid Tape. It comes in a small bottle with a brush and you paint it on. It is an insulator.
