Shorted my power supply

Hello,

I stuck a screwdriver into my power supply fan so that I could test noise levels without the fan. Well even though the computer was off, it sparked. Now my computer wont start. Do I need a new case? Did I cause damage to other parts of the computer.

:shocked: um.. are you aware you could have electrocuted yourself when you tried this? very dangerous.. i believe the only part that is fried in the power supply, if you have another connect it and hope for the best, hopefully everything else will post and work properly once you replace the power supply. however if your not lucky, then its possible other parts could have been fried too, though i dont think it would be that bad.. good luck.
