Hey guys, if you could help me out I appreciate it. I hope this is acceptable on this forum; I was looking for forum rules.

Anyways, this is all for fun, Thanks :)

1. This year, Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens are
competing against each other for Mayor of Philadelphia. Who
would you choose and why?

2. From general knowledge, who do you think is most
suitable to be Mayor of Philadelphia?

3. Did you know that Donovan McNabb has a foundation
called ?The Donovan McNabb foundation? that not only helps
educate people about diabetes, but also educates people in
general about the seriousness of diabetes?

4. Do you know if Terrell Owens has any programs or have
been an active participant in any programs that help people
who are victims of (any) disease(s)?

5. Do you think there are things that Donovan McNabb lacks
when compared to Terrell Owens?

6. What would you suggest that Donovan McNabb should do in
order to persuade voters to vote for him?

7. What is Donovan McNabb?s strongest feature that would
put him ahead of Terrell Owens?

8. What is Donovan McNabb?s weakest feature that would set
him behind Terrell Owens?

9. If you knew The Donovan McNabb Foundation had sponsored
more than twenty individual scholarships for young people
with diabetes attending ADA's camps, would this persuade you
to become a supporter for Donovan McNabb?

10. If you are a supporter of Terrell Owens, what is it
that he does or did that gained your loyalty?

Oh, this is for an Advertising project. My instructor didn't pick the topic, our group did. I'm just trying to gather some research into what people think :)

I choose TO. When I am evaluating football players as a fan, I look for talent, not what he does off the field. He is, imho, one of the two greatest receivers, ever (Jerry Rice being the greatest). I had the pleasure of seeing both of them play, and seeing TO catch the winning TD against the Packers in the playoffs.

Anyway, I think it is a fact that the NFL and the players agents and the NFL player association coerce the players to set up or give to a charity as a condition of their receiving multi-million dollar contracts. This gives the NFL a huge PR boost as they can point to all of the money, events and charities.
That said, a cursory search reveals:

To My Fellow Americans and Fans around the Nation,

I am sure you share my horror and disbelief over the devastation along the Gulf Coast in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Never in my wildest dreams could I ever imagine the things I see on television as I watch the coverage of the destruction, the floods and the plight of the hurricane victims.

With the help of NFL Auctions, I am auctioning off my 2004 Philadelphia Eagles NFC Championship ring, in order to raise money for hurricane relief. My hope is that one of you with a generous heart and hopefully a big pocketbook will see this as an opportunity to do your part to help those that have lost everything.

I urge each one of you to place a bid, as much as you can afford for this worthwhile cause. All proceeds from the auction will go directly to hurricane relief. If you don't win this auction I ask you to consider donating the value you were willing to bid directly to the relief effort. Although you didn't win my ring, I believe you will find your generosity just as rewarding.

To my NFL teammates I urge each one of you to do what you can for the victims, be it an auction or monetary donation. Many of us are from the affected states and together we can make a difference.

Sincerely,
Terrell Owens

Neither. I'd pick Sam Katz. Of course, either McNabb or TO would be better than John Street, the second worst mayor ever (behind Wilson "let's bomb the MOVE house and burn down a few blocks while we're at it" Goode)

Ha! Prior to Richardson Dilworth and the reform Democrats in the 1950's Philadelphia had a long succession of machine Republican mayors that made Goode and Street look like genius Eagle scouts.

Not for nothing if you wanted a slick shyster mouthpiece you got yourself a "Philadelphia Lawyer", and I grew up with Philly being the national butt of what later became Cleveland jokes.

And just like those jokes don't change from generation to generation, only the name of the city, a generationaly ingrained culture of corruption doesn't change easily or quickly.

Philadelphia has been ungodly fvcked for a long, long time.

1998-
In the Wild Card Game at 3Com Park the 49ers hosted the Green Bay Packers in a thrilling game that went back and forth. Things looked bleak when the 49ers trailed 27-23 in the waning seconds. However, in one last moment of glory Steve Young hit Terrell Owens on a dramatic game 25-yard TD pass that gave the Niners a 30-27 win with 3 seconds left.

The 1994 San Francisco 49ers completed one of the most impressive seasons in NFL history by capturing their NFL-record fifth Super Bowl championship at Joe Robbie Stadium in Miami. San Francisco defeated the San Diego Chargers 49-26 in Super Bowl XXIX to put the finishing touches on a 16-3 season and win an unprecedented fifth Vince Lombardi Trophy.

OOPS! Boos and hisses to me for not thinking outside of the Eagles box. I thought you were confusing T.O. with "FedEx" Freddy Mitchell and his critical, game changing, fourth and 24 catch in heavy traffic in the 2004 Packers-Eagles playoff game. Mitchell had T.O.'s attitude, but not his skill, and is now out of football.

Leave it to me to pick the only situation in the football universe where anyone, anywhere could possibly confuse the two.

The idea is for you to formulate an opinion and then argue your point.

A lot goes into the making of a candidate:

Voting Record in the past if he was ever elected before?

Is the person married and what is his family life like?

Where did all that campaign financing come from?

Who are his friends and supporters?

What is his experience and does this experience show he is qualified for the job?

What about his platform?

What does a mayor do?
