Yeah I've done it, looks fine to me.

EDIT: For casual wear... I don't know about in a professional setting

Depends on the formalness of the occasion, less formal sure it?s okay, medium formal long sleeves is okay, and ultra formal you need the suite jacket.

I do not and will never own or wear a tie. Why would anyone in their right mind wear a noose around their neck? It makes no sense.

It must be a throwback to a former era when men were dressing like pansies. It serves no practical purpose.

However, it serves plenty of impractical purposes. Take for example tying someone with it.
