I'm ready to order one but nowhere on the internet have i been able to find if it comes with or without a DVI cable.

Could someone perhaps shed some light on this?

Thanks in advance :)

I am just wondering why the store i'm planning on buying it from is listing it as being a 25ms panel.
Plus they are offering it at ?360/$432 which is much cheaper than at other stores.

Could it be the case that this is an older version of the panel tested by THG a couple of months ago?
(or maybe i'm just being too suspicious)

Thanks:)

Thats cuz Newegg is quoting the black white black response time, not the true responce time. YMMV

Eh does the "D-Sub 2" part mean they come with two D-Sub cables or something? Or that it has two separate D-Sub inputs?

If it's the latter, then it doesn't necessarily come with a DVI cable. Some manufacturers don't include one with their DVI-capable monitors. I have no idea if Viewsonic does or doesn't. But none of the reviewers on Newegg said they didn't get a DVI cable, and many said they were using the monitor's DVI, so I would venture to guess that it does come with a cable. BenQ is the only manufacturer that I can think of off-hand that doesn't ship a DVI cable with their DVI-capable monitors, but there's probably many others. It's definitely one thing to ask when you're looking for a DVI monitor.

BenQ link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824014063
Note how some of the reviewers mention that it doesn't have a DVI cable. Newegg lists it as:
"Input Compatibility Analog RGB, Digital DVI
D-Sub 1
DVI 1"

All of the Viewsonic DVY capable monitors come with a DVI cable. I have the VA712b.

You had better make sure they are selling the 8ms grey to grey version.

There are 3 versions of the vp191b, the 25ms, the 16ms, and the 8ms grey to grey.

You definately want the 8ms grey to grey. I have a 16ms version and a 8ms grey to grey, and the 8ms monitor has a much better response time. In fact the response time on the 16ms monitor is horrible. Movies are OK on it, but games are really bad.

To answer your original question, they do come with a DVI cable.

I ahve a 16ms VP171B and I have never ever seen anything close to ghosting.

Mine has 2 seperate DVI inputs and came with one DVI and one VGA cable.

That's because the vp171b is a TN monitor. The vp191b is a MVA monitor, which until overdrive (which is in the 8ms grey to grey monitor) have been bad at games.

I am running a dual monitor setup. One of my monitors is the older 16ms vp191b, and the other one is the 8ms grey to grey version. There is a very large difference between the two in terms of ghosting. Dark games such as Doom3 are horrible on the 16ms version, but play just fine on the 8ms version.

If i cannot find out for sure which generation vp191b is being offered i will probably just go with the Hyundai L90D+..don't think i can go wrong with that one...

to let you know if a lcd has an 8ms response time it doesnt stay at 8ms that is the lowest it goes ghosting doesnt matter alot about response time its the quality of the panel.

lcd: 4ms is that right lowest one they have.
crt: .5 its so low they dont even have to list it.
