Short question about hdcp

Simple question if you have an hdcp enabled video card do you also need the lcd display to have hdcp enabled, or if you have an hdcp video card wouldnt care if the display has or not hdcp?

cause im looking forward for the asus pw201 wide 20 inch display its structure is gorgeous and i read a review that considers it a good purchase except for the glossy coating and not too good angle of view due to be a pmva panel, but it lacks hdcp so i ask myself if i get a hdcp card in the future would i be ready for hd content even if the hollywood scum use the constraint flags or will i be screwed up for not having hdcp on the display also.

HDCP only matters when you playback BlueRay or HD-DVD. Assuming the studios enable ICT, then you must have HDCP on BOTH graphic card and display (in order to get full resolution).

Otherwise, everything works normal even if your display is not HDCP enabled. XP or Vista.

Both the display and the video card will have to be HDCP-enabled to play Protected High-Def content at the full resolution, the Holy Grail of video, 1080p.

BTW, if you plan on playing HD content on the rig in your signature, I assure you, it will stutter like crazy!
Also, most HDCP-enabled cards out there (I can only think of the high-end7950GX2, some X1600 Pros and some other low end cards) are PCIe only. I'm assuming you are talking about some other rig.
