Looks like all motherboards currently available, not including the dated Irongate 750 and the soon to be available KT133 chipset based motherboards will have extremely short life spans. The Pentium!!! line is plainly going to go low end since they will not or cannot obtain much over 1.13Ghz. I would hate to see people buy any pentium3 motherboard(BX,I840,I815), only to realize that the pentium!!! line will end around 1.2Ghz, which wont be available till 2001.
Also the KX133 chipset is having problems with only non-overclocked T-birds over 800mhz, however many others have overclocked theirs to over 1Ghz. I wonder if AMD had purposely done this to quickly flood the market with SocketA chipsets?
I think both companies have left us hanging for upgrades this round. Give us what we want, a true replacement for the BX, that' means performance and upgradability. It doesn't seem like big Willie's first chipset will last very long. I think AMD may have a winner with the 760 chipset.
