Short and Quiet HS\Fan for a PIII?

Can anyone suggest a pair of quiet and short, or low profile, HS\Fans for a socket 370 PIII-700? Short is important due to the case. The PS is directly over the processor. I'm hoping for a low RPM 80mm fan but that may be a stretch as it would be very difficult to attach it to the socket. This will be used in file server with a dual cpu board which is why they need to be quiet.

Thanks in advance.

Here is one possibility: Thermalright 35mm-high heatsink with copper inset, no fan included If you have room for a 25mm-thick fan, slap a Panaflo L1A 80mm fan on there (rotate it about 10 degrees and put screws into opposite corners). If you don't have that much clearance, you can get a special 15mm-thick Panaflo L1A from digikey.com (search for "FBA fan" and then filter for 80 x 15mm).

Really, the highest-output P3's are still under 40W peak output, and you could use Alpha PAL153U's as-is, or possibly with a quiet-running 60 x 25mm fan. I don't follow the reasoning that a file server's CPU fans need to be quiet per se, especially not if you are going to have hard-seeking SCSI drives clattering away all the time.

Low profile and quiet are almost contradictory terms. There's this cooler, works nicely in boxes like you describe, if not terribly quiet- not a screamer, either-

Might even do the job at 7v, if you want to deal with the wiring....

Another possibility is the Alpha pep66 with quiet 60mm fans, if you have the room on the board. Originally designed for use on slotkets, they require only 60mm clearance, but make up for that by having the fan on the side on a s370 board. They're big enough that running a slim 60mm fan at 7v would likely do the job just fine. I think 2cooltek still carries them. Sometimes they're available used, saving a few bucks...

And there's always the stock late model Intel units- not bad, really...

why not just go with stock intel coolers? P3s dont require much cooling and you cant beat the quietness of the stock fan. And they are pretty low profile as well.
