shoprunner a scam - newegg always ships via ground anyway?

I ordered something from Newegg yesterday, and it shipped yesterday as well. But, although I selected free 2 day shipping via shoprunner, it shipped UPS ground, and won't reach until next tuesday. How is that 2 day shipping?

Definitely not up to par with amazon prime. newegg should drop shoprunner and just start an in-house version like amazon has, i'd gladly pay for that.

edit: hmm, seems it was updated to monday. i'm happy again.

UPS is showing that it will be delivered on Monday, so it will get to you within two business days of shipment.

It's definitely not as good as Prime. Nowhere near.

However, I did my month trial & went to cancel & they extended the trial for another year. I doubt I'll pay for it (haven't used it aside from my original order) but I won't turn it down for free.

And for what it's worth my stuff did ship faster from Newegg, so YMMV.

I've used Shoprunner with NewEgg and they have shipped several things via UPS ground from the TN warehouse which takes 2 business days to get to me here in South Florida so the 1 year free that I got through SD a couple months back has worked pretty well. It's been especially good for smaller things like RAM & Games that they would normally ship by garbage "Egg Saver" that takes FOREVER!

If you ordered late in the day yesterday then Tuesday would be two day shipping. Not to mention all shipping estimates are business days.

They do this to me on every order, because I'm close to where they ship, so it usually gets to me in 1 day. So basically they are paying ground yet guarantee 2nd day. I'm ok with it as long as it gets here in 2 business days.

An old job I had did the same thing, we even had a chart to determine the amount of days it took for ground delivery. If the destination was close enough to ship ground in 1 day, that is how we would send it, even if the buyer paid for overnight.

fwiw, I've ordered several things from NE on shoprunner, and occasionally get things from their Memphis warehouse in 1 day.

Yea being in PA I get a lot of stuff from their NJ warehouse the day after I place my order. It's pretty sweet.

I have a free one year membership, so I can't complain. It's definitely not very useful though.

About a year ago I signed up for my free month of shoprunner, bought all my bitcoin hardware, canceled it. A winner is me.

Do you really think that Amazon doesn't fuck their customers over as well?

I've ordered products over the weekend, which set the approximate delivery date to Wednesday. However, it's perfectly plausible that the product could ship on Monday, but it typically doesn't. They wait until Tuesday to ship the product, because they only guaranteed that I would get it by Wednesday.

What pisses me off about this is that they aren't consistent in doing this to me. I've had products ship the day that I purchased them (even when submitting the order in the afternoon), and I received it the next day (when they listed it as arriving the day after that), and as I mentioned, I've had it the opposite way. So, when it comes to me ordering a product online, and I want it the next day... do I take the gamble and assume that Amazon will ship it that day (and also that it will come from the close warehouse), or do I guarantee that I will get it the next day by paying $3.99?

I would rather just have them exhibit the same behavior each time, so I know whether I have to pay or not. :|

For Non-Prime members Amazon has gotten REALLY BAD recently regarding FSSS. Sometimes stuff I order is held for as much as 4-5 business days before shipping. Even worse it will sit at "Shipping Soon" for 3+ days making it more difficult to cancel the order if you decide to, that's if they will even let you cancel it.

Got in on the $1 deal and it has saved me a ridiculous amount of time waiting for "Egg Saver" items.

Previously decent companies are outsourcing to the crap merchants you were trying to avoid in the first place. Sucks.

Amazon has taken most of my business from Newegg. Prime FTW. I started out with the free student membership and just recently renewed for 1/2 off.

I ordered two brother pt-2030vp labelers for 14.99 each last weekend from Newegg and used shoprunner's free 2-day shipping. They shipped from their NJ warehouse via UPS 2nd day air and i got them last wednesday. I've mostly used my free year of shoprunner on free pizza deliveries from Domino's though. :D
