Yeah, I'm bilding a micro office system, well another one. I'm also tossing around performance vs. cost. Like I'll use one DVD-R and leave the socket 775 3.0 instead of add a second optical drive and get a Dual Core CPU. Still use my 7600GT though. I have my Dish Network run through Slingbox Pro in three locations. The btter video graphics processor will get it's use. And my micro board has a built in VPU.

It really looks very good. The 7600GT is legendary! I have three of them! Two in SLI on this machine and one more Iinstalled last night in my new build. I'll fire that up tonight. Got my optical drives waiting on the porch vis Newegg. Come on...get the EVGA 7600GT! That 7100 is a prop!

actually, right off the bat, if im not playing games, do i need a video card immediately with everything else? or can i wait on it until i want to play games/run vista?

can the on-board video handle basic needs?

maybe i can get the 7600 later when i get more money, if thats the case.

No onboard video on the Gigabyte 965 board. Don't let anyooen talk you off that 965 board. One of very best performers out ther. And your getting a C2D! Lookin' good!

Your talking building a VERY nice system. You'll be happy with the performance. My C2D system is great. I wish I had more of them! Stay pretty much with your original idea and post!

Yeah, that's how I got my stuff for the current micro build. Upgraded a kid's computer and asked if He needed his old MB and CPU. 8)

I gave the kid over $200 worth of stuff including the case! Man is He happy!
