6-8GB RAM
Dual monitor video card, gaming capable. Broadcast video frame rate >30 fps.
Brand leader Mobo to support the above and overclockable. All hot USB slots.

Will run MS XP Pro (already have it).
750 watt or equiv PS.
(1) Primary WD Raptor HDD for OS and appz and secondary 1-1.5 Terabyte data drive, prefer 7200 RPM.
DVD Read and and write and play don't need blue ray burner.
Ventilated case with at least (2) 120 mm fans.
Reliable wireless gaming mouse and kb. Prefer Logitech.
7.1 sound card. Don't need 'bring the roof down' wattage. Clarity and stereo separation are key.

Thanks experts and Pros!

Not sure what you mean by "don't have 1000's to spend", but you're definitely not going to be able to get what you want for less than $1000. You're going to need to give us an exact budget.

Also, realize that your 6-8GB of RAM would be wasted on XP (and let's not talk about XP-64 *shudder*).

Welcome to AT! Nice name BTW.

As others have said, were going to need a little more price range.

Also, do you have the raptor already, or would an SSD be an option for you?

How about some examples of games you're interested in playing?
