Shopping for an engagement ring, any women in here?

Long story short, we are going to get married. Now I need to find a ring, she has said that she wants an older ring with history. So I have been keeping my eye out for a while and saw a good deal. Based on these pictures, what do you guys/gals think?

It is platinum but I don't have a specific stone size. I will be meeting the fellow at a jeweler to confirm that its real though. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Negative, however I will be checking it out in person on Thursday. This is the first time I will be shopping for an engagement ring though.

Ya, this is only the first of three hurdles..... I have to formerly ask her folks and then ask her, I know the answer but still it's nerve racking....

I need some more details to give you an accurate figure, but a good rule of thumb is to be SI3 or better and H or better with a good/fair cut for at or under $1800/carat.
