Shopping for a SSD

Hey everyone, I'm shopping for a SSD to use for my OS, games, and apps. I'd like to get a 120-128gb and there are a few that I am looking at. Basically I want the best performance and reliability without spending a fortune (would like to keep it below $220). Out of the drives I have listed what is the best choice? Or if there's something better what is it? Also, I know black friday is right around the corner so should I hold off until then and see if there are any sales? I'm using Vista x64 as my OS but also considering upgrading to Win7. Worth it? Sorry for so many questions and thanks in advance for any help!

Drives I'm considering:

Intel 320- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820167050
Crucial M4- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820148442
OCZ Vertex 3- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227706
OCZ Agility 3- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227726
G.SKILL Phoenix Pro- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231378
Corsair Force GT- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820233191

M4 and Intel are most reliable right now. stay away from phoenix pro. gl

If you're for reliability, it seems like Intel, Crucial, and Samsung are the most reliable.

yea. samsung is good stuff. can't go wrong with intel or crucial either. ocz SF based drives are acceptable these days now that the firmware has matured.

I just wanted to mention that my motherboard only supports SATA II (gigabyte ep45-ud3p). Should I use that to determine which drive to purchase? Also, would a 64gb drive would be enough for my OS and frequently used apps, and maybe a few games (mainly skyrim and BF3)? I know I'd feel more comfortable with 120gb but I'm not gonna lie I like the price of a 64gb drive a little more :p

I'm running a 240gb OCZ Agility 3 on my Abit IP-35Pro board right now at SATA II speeds with no problems at all. I did flash the latest firmware when I received it, 2.15. I don't worry about not getting SATA 3 speeds as the latency afforded by an SSD is what makes the real difference anyway. Really makes this old machine seem pretty fast (Q6600@3.2Gh). I wouldn't wast the money on those others as OCZ and Sandforce seem to have fixed the bugs.

I've been thinking about going with an M4 myself..

I've been skeptical though. It seems every newegg rating goes something like "wow this thing is so fast! My windows index score is higher and my bootup times were reduced!" surely there are other benefits, right? Like instant game loads?

I really hope I don't spend $200 just so I can get out of hibernation in 3 seconds instead of 10 seconds.. and I couldn't care less about the damned index score.

How do you rate Corsair drives?

They use the Sandforce controller like a lot of other manufactures. Given that makes the biggest difference between drives, their is little difference between manufactures using the same chipset (problems and performance wise).
