Picking one up soon, I've come across the HP Spectre x360 and the Dell Inspiron 13 and I'm leaning towards the Dell because I've had fairly reliable laptops from them in the past and components are easy to upgrade compared to HP where you practically have to dismantle the entire back and motherboard to access the RAM and HDD (and from what I hear RAM is almost inaccessible). However the features of the Spectre x360 such as mini displayport is ideal. Are there other brands suggestions? Or should I look into the Surface Book?

HP Spectre x360 has i5 6200U 8GB ram and 256GB SSD DP $1299
Dell Inspiron 13 7000 has i5 5200U 8GB ram and 500GB HDD $899

Toshiba Radius (Nice computer but the visual stack makes for massive reflections.)
Dell XPS 13
Surface Pro 4
Surface Book

The Spectre x360 is a beautiful piece of hardware. After typing on it for about a minute, though, I decided that the trackpad palm rejection was terrible. I ended up constantly deleting what I'd just type if my palm ever touched it. I decided if I ever bought one, I'd turn the trackpad off permanently and use the touchscreen only. That took it out of the running for me.

Personally I think upgradeability isn't as important as it used to be. RAM requirements simply don't increase like they used to.

After fiddling with all the computers lately, I'd recommend the Surface Pro 4 with an i5 or greater for most people. It hits the sweet spot of being supremely portable, well made, and the new type cover actually has a better keyboard/trackpad than 95% of laptops. (The trackpad is faaaaar better then the Spectre's.) I only picked up the Surface Book over the Pro 4 was I tend to work outside in random places where stability on my lap is paramount. Oh, and the Surface Book has more battery life.

Will look into the Yoga 900, the XPS 13 isn't quite what I'm looking for.

What did you end up getting, if anything? I am looking at getting a 2 in 1. Kind of looking to go budget model($500ish) but seems like the best reviews are on the $1000 and up models, which makes sense, I get that, just don't want to miss out on something awesome. But as I pretty much only need it for couch/bed web browsing...I was originally looking at a chromebook since I don't need it for much. But I think I want to stick with windows 10.

Haven't gotten one yet, for you there's that Dell Inspiron 7000 and an HP Pavilion x360 one but the HP looks ugly, and I think they have Pentium N3700 in them for that price range although there's another HP Pavilion x360 with an i3 6100U for slightly more.
