I would like to purchase a new Lite On 40 or 48X12X48 CDRW at newegg but I?m getting confused and could use your help. Here is a link to the possibilities. Can you tell me if any of there is a great deal or if the faster models are worth the extra cash?

I also plan to buy CREATIVE LABS SOUND BLASTER LIVE! 5.1 and could use some speaker advice if you have a moment I?m torn between these to sets is the slightly more expensive set worth the cost? I would love any input you guys/gals may have.

Logitech Z-340 3 Piece Speaker System $36.00

Logitech Z540 5-Piece Speaker System $57.00

Thanks for taking the time to help!

For $13.00 more than the 40x version, I would go with the 48x. I also would just get the retail box for $76.00.

I don't know how much difference you will notice right now, but being faster doesn't hurt.

I think $76.00 for a 48x version is a pretty good deal. I paid $399.00 for a 4 x 2 x 6 back in 98 or 99 :Q

I can't advise you on computer speakers. I am not a big computer audio person. I use little Creative Labs speakers

take a look around. u could find other better speakers but at a slightly larger $ tag. but if ur're a sound man than go with the best

Thanks guys! Yah $13.00 big deal right good advice antiABIT I would probably be thinking about that later if I went for the 40X thanks.

antiABIT I?m also with you on the speaker situation. I don?t know squat about sound. I only know that mine sucks now. :disgust:

kewei50 I don?t need to blow my head off I would just like to get the most out of the good deal on the sound card I mentioned earlier. I don?t know how to interpret the output power of the sound card as opposed to the ability of the speakers. In other words will I be killing the cards output with the cheaper speakers or are the slightly more costly speakers overkill? Again I don?t need to shake the house, but I would like to shake a couple of rooms if I can. ;)
