Earlier this evening an anonymous user of some stupid college gossip site said something along the lines of, "Hey, I wonder if I can get the school shut down if I say I'm going to shoot 50 people in my second class tomorrow." Someone notified Campus Safety, and I'm sure by now the FBI is on this kid's ass.
How stupid do you have to be to post something like this online? Even if he isn't serious, I imagine he'll be expelled and probably be in some sort of legal trouble. If I had to guess, this is just some stupid freshman's idea of getting out of a midterm exam.
To make things worse, the director of campus safety sent an e-mail to everyone in such a way that it crippled whatever servers our e-mail is on. I couldn't open any e-mails for about 3 hours, including the one that said "Important Message from Campus Safety."
And now I have the pleasure of going to class with police everywhere. What a great learning environment.
