You might want to read the thread again, just to establish who is who. 🙂You know nothing about guns, just stop trying to talk about them.

Too bad. I'm in good health. You will be paying my bills for many years to come. I love it.

.223 is an excellent cartridge for hunting small game.
How so? Are you making "facts" up again? You must be. I have nothing to fear from a Romney Administration. I do from this current obama one and Lord help us if he cheats his way into another term.
.223 is also an excellent cartridge for killing human beings. That's what it was designed for, actually. And the AR-15, which is chambered for the .223 cartridge, is just the semi-automatic version of the M-16. Which, wouldn't you know, was designed to killed human beings, too! Our troops are using it for that purpose as we speak!
The .223 Remington is a sporting cartridge.
The .223 Remington is one of the most common rifle cartridges in use in the United States, being widely used in two types of rifles: (1) varmint rifles, most of which are bolt action and commonly have 1-in-12 rifling twist suitable for bullets between 38 to 55 grains (2.5 to 3.6 g), and (2) semi-automatic rifles such as the AR-15 and the Ruger Mini-14, which are commonly found to have twist rates of 1-in-7, 1-in-9, or 1-in-8.

Or what will happen? Will the scary black men invade your home?
What do you think Ryan wants to do to Social Security?
Any day can be your last, you like to spend them trolling P&N.
I personally think its a good thing Lonely jackasses have a place to vent.
Whatever keeps you from being the next one in the news is cool with me.

http://www.gunnersden.com/index.htm.223remington.htmlThe 223 Remington was introduced to the public as a commercial cartridge by Remington in January 1964, one month later in February 1964 this same cartridge was officially standardized by the U.S. military as the 5.56mm ball cartridge M193, several years later was accepted by NATO as the 5.56x45 NATO cartridge.
Many years of testing and development were required to produce this cartridge, the actual name .223 Remington was given to this cartridge in 1959, prior to 1959 this cartridge was also known as the .222 Special.
The 223 Remington is one of the top varmint and predator rounds in the United States. With so many variations of rifle action types, surplus ammo, range brass, bulk bullets it's fair to say the .223 Remington will remain at the top of the sales charts for a very long time.

The page also includes a quote saying, "We are all capable of redemption, if we are willing to change," plus another he attributes to George Orwell stating, "People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."
You DO realize that pretty much all firearms are "military style"? The majority of firearms and the surrounding technologies were first used in the military and then found their way into civilian activities . .

No, it's not an AK. It's a Czech vz. 58. Just picked it up today, can't wait to try it out on the range. 🙂

Robert Evans dude that looks awesome!

Robert Evans isn't there a way to make those full auto?
June 7, 2011 at 10:14pm
Thomas Caffall no, and that would be very illegal without a mountain of paperwork and approval from BATFE. there are vz's that are full-auto, but they are military issue to the czech army and others.
June 7, 2011 at 10:17pm
Robert Evans I knew there was a permit requirement, but I think a full auto would be a fun way to spend money at the range lol, man you totally have to let me shoot that thing one day.
June 7, 2011 at 10:19pm
Robert Evans also what did it cost? I considered buying an AK for fun at a range
June 7, 2011 at 10:20pm
Thomas Caffall it was 799, no tax, no shipping, and they paid the ffl fee to the dealer they shipped it to. check it out on czechpoint-usa.com. most ak's are less expensive, but the vz is lighter and more accurate.

Thomas Caffall also, full-auto rifles start about 10,000 and go up from there. bit cost-prohibitive. and the BATFE check takes 60-90 days at the least.

Just because it's used for killing people doesn't mean it's unsuitable for hunting.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.223_Remington
Never said it was unsuitable for hunting. I said the AR-15 is not necessary to use the .223 round.

I just got a new toy! It's a Russian Mosin Nagant that looks like it might not have been fired in 80 years, but was extremely well preserved. The two big cans above it are ammo. I'll be at the gun range as much as I can...

What black man? You mean the President? He's not black. How is he black? Are you a racist?
Mr. Ryan wants to fix Social Security and Medicare. That's a good thing. I wish him well. The plan that obama has is to totally bankrupt the entire system.....and America.
Fertilizer is an excellent tool for killing human beings. That's what it was designed for, actually. And the 10lb bag of fertilizer which contains chemicals is just the smaller bag of the 50lb bag. Which, wouldn't you know, was designed to help grow plants, too! People are using it for that purpose as we speak!
Box cutters are also excellent for killing human beings . . . .
Cars are excellent tools for killing human beings . . . .

OMG, he sounds exactly like the 2nd amendment freaks:
You have no idea what you're talking about, do you? It's just a football game to you, or you're trolling. I just think you're that stupid. Hurry up and kick the bucket, old man. Your dinosaur beliefs are outdated.
Update: Guy was apparently a right-wing nut. Gunz and Glenn Beck.
Yeah, but fertilizer also grows food. Box cutters cut boxes. Cars transport people.
Guns are weapons, and are made for the purpose of destruction. You really can't do anything else with a gun.
