So Trump has said the CEO of US Steel called him personally to tell him they are firing up six (or seven) plants.

The only thing that matters though is that Trump strokes his base full of nutjobs with those soothing fairy tales of his that he is so well known for. With Trump openly declaring his support of Russian ally Putin, with the much hated Mueller closing in on Trump and with Trump constantly tweeting himself into trouble, the need for Trump to singularly focus on pandering to his supporters becomes more important to him commensurate with every daily/hourly lie he gets caught and called on by the fact checkers, more commonly known by Trump and his supporters as "the fake media".

Let's face it. Trump is getting away with every single lie that comes out of that foul hole in his face. There's not a single call out of his incessant lying from his hijacked base nor is there any effort by his feckless, embarrassingly compliant mouthpieces in the Legislature toward holding him accountable for those blatant lies of his.

Trump is making a complete and utter mockery of the office he holds and for that he is being lauded and revered by his supporters. Doesn't that say it all about the kind of people that now have everything they've ever wanted in a president? Doesn't that speak volumes about what their priorities are in what they want from their government?

There are no calls whatsoever from the once proud and principled party of family values and religious piety for Trump to be honest and forthright with the nation. There are no calls for Trump to honor the emolument policies that are expected by our elected leaders. There is absolutely no real and earnest effort to investigate his highly suspect pre-presidential financial dealings with Russia and Putin nor are there any seriously pursued investigations irt how his campaign funds were used/abused.

What all of that speaks to the people of the nation is that the GOP as a whole and complete body refuses to face the fact that Trump is wholly unfit to hold his office and would rather sit silent on all of those obviously flagrant offenses against the people their president have committed yet would instantly and viciously attack Trump for every single arrogant act of disrespect for the office, rule of law and decorum if he were a Democrat.

Hypocrisy knows no bounds with this party of Trump. One would hope that there are righteous consequences for their actions in this regard.

Not seeing why that matters. The statement from US Steel is pretty clear. They fired up one blast furnace at one location and have said there is nothing else. What they've announced is what they are doing. Trump's statement is very clear that he is implying they are opening up several facilities and it's completely dishonest.

There's no way to parse that to have it be an honest statement.

Clinton 50% mostly true or true, 73% half true or better
Obama 49% mostly true or true, 74% half true or better
Trump 17% mostly true or true, 32% half true or better


Its much more likely than not that Trump is lying to you vs either Clinton or Obama for example. It is your apathetic attitude that has allowed politics to become what it is.

After promising the working class more jobs/bringing back jobs from overseas, better health care than Obamacare, modernizing/upgrading/repairing infrastructure, huge tax cuts for the middle class, draining the swamp and making Mexico pay for a wall to secure the nation from brown skinned rapists and murderers, the mofo's then proceeded to give the very wealthy a fat tax cut, gutted out health care for the working class and the poor, gave the middle class a whiff of a tax cut that expires mysteriously right after Trump supposedly leaves office after his second term, riled up their base to hate and fear anything and anybody that's not from and/or of genetically pure caucasian origins and to make it all stick for decades are filling judgeships with young unqualified reactionary right wing adjudicators.

And that's what MAGA means to them? It's purely a matter of exchanging lies for votes from a willing and culpable constituency then. I mean, that's all it's come to for them. Too bad the rest of us have to suffer for it.
