Shocked there is no outrage over the pet food contamination.

I am surprised that no one is upset over this whole thing, about how it could have happen, and want to know what measures are being done to prevent it from happening again.

You know, I've been kind of surprised at the lack of attention by the media to the cause of all this (poor quality control of Chinese food). The solution, of course, is stringent controls here on the import side (or perhaps just not importing food into the worlds biggest food producing country in the first place!). Although I didn't have the chance to read the article, I saw a headline on the front page of a newspaper today stating that the FDA is investigating the possibility of enforcing such controls. I, for one, welcome there being some attention to the quality of goods entering our country. Dirt cheap imports have a downside.

Probably a good thing that this also got distributed into human consumption. It's the only way to get many people's attention.

Their should atleast be a congressional hearing over how this happen, and what to do to stop it from happening again. Heads should roll over this.

We know it's a big thing, but when you post and put your own spin on things, it becomes a troll thread.

That said, this is a fairly recent incident. Sure lots of people are outraged, including me. I'm owned by a pet.
I trust there are still ongoing investigations and the results are not in yet.

I did not feed my dog any of the food in question.

I actually kind've agree with you on this one, but if you are looking for that simple information, that information is readily available. I think it should've gotten more press though.. Could've caused more precautionary measures to be taken overall.

Yes, let's poison all the animals on the planet because some people live in poverty, that makes perfect sense.

you are right, there is no reaction compared to what imus said, that is for sure.

killing dogs and cats or calling someone a name. obviously calling someone a name is much worse.

That's just to distract us from what's going on with Rosie O'Donnel.

Last I'd heard it sounded like the pet food manufacturers were bending over backward to try and make things right. Perhaps there could be more attention to quality control, but that's going to raise the cost of your dog food. I'm certainly concerned, but I wouldn't know who I'm supposed to be "outraged" at.

hey, bob barker always said to control the pet population! :p

seriously though, humans > animals and while a few animals have been affected, millions of people are affected every day by starvation. and yet the news cares more about the death of anna nicole than millions across the world struggling to survive on a daily basis (or in this case, a poor few animals who have died).
