Shocked My Motherboard!!!!!

while the power was off, i was installing my PCI wireless card, i made sure to drain myself of static b4hand, but somehow as soon as the card touched the slot a blue blot of static shot out.

Now i am very confused
because i would think static would kill the Motherboard

but it still turns on
drives still boot as normal
and the processor is fully functional

its only the VGA and USB that have been knocked out
however
the VGA card and sound card both indicate power running through them

at this point i just want to throw that computer out my window
because to be quite frank
i dont know what to do

Yeah, that's the ethical thing to do 😕

Most likely your motherboard is bad, is this a custom built machine or a brand name? And maybe some specs on the pc.

its custom

specs are

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+ 2.6GHz
2GB Corsair DDR2
160GB WD Hard Drive
Radeon X1650 Series
SB X-Fi Audio
Windows XP Professional
And the Motherboard is made by ASUS w/SLI
