Shmups for Pc??

Hey all just wondering if there are any native Shmups for PC. I love games like Raiden and R-type but cant seem to find anything like this for PC.

There's a lot of japanese games that are bullet hell types. I remember playing samidare but it was fairly short. On the PS3 there's the tenga toppa games but I'm not sure if they're on the PC.

If you really want to go niche the touhou series are all great bullet hell games.

That's a good question. The last PC Shmup I played was Sine Mora. Another that I haven't tried is Jets 'n' Guns. Honestly there's not a lot that are uniquely PC based. Shmups are by nature arcade inheritance or inspired. Despite all the advances of gamepad there's nothing like the feeling of the cabinet joystick.

There are tons of shmups and bullet hell games on Steam, the new tagging system makes it really easy to search for games like this.

Try Jamestown, it's an indie shump/bullet hell type game that I found fun, but wasn't able to beat due to the sheer difficulty of the final levels.

Beat me to it. I can't recommend Tyrian or Raptor enough! They are among my all time favorite games.

For something a little different, check out Ion Storm. You can usually get it on Steam really cheap.

Thanks guys They all look so great. I will check out some of these games asap. That James Town looks hard as hell. Maybe a little to hard.I do like the style of the over head view though. So thats what I am looking for for sure.
