It has been hanging here for about 20 minutes. The entire time, update manager has estimated 4 minutes remaining for the upgrade :(

This makes me really nervous. I'm not about to reboot my computer, since that may fubar my install (and I don't want to go through the hassle of restoring from a backup). At the same time, I can't exactly leave me computer like this forever...

Anyone have any experience with a large update screwing up like this?

Edit: The answer is yes. A ton of digging around on the internet reveals a kernel problem when upgrading to hardy from gutsy... causing some users to have a screwed up upgrade.

Reverting to a backup was all that saved me, applying various "fixes" couldn't bring me to 8.04 correctly :(
