Shit, constant beeps, no video, no post

Make sure everything is plugged in, even with a dead GPU and faulty RAM chances are it won't make beeping noises as long as it can detect something is actually there.

Have you tried running with only the CPU + cooler, 1 stick of RAM, and off the on-board video (assuming you have that)?
 
New problem: windows won't start. it also doesn't recognize one of the hard drives.

It appears that if I try to seat the RAM in dual channel it will not work.

but if I seat the RAM in like 1+3 it will.
 
You are aware that 1+3 or 2+4 is dual channel right? 1+2 is just 2 sticks as far as the motherboard is concerned.

Make sure to re-check ALL of the connections as it sounds like things are just popping loose left and right.

Depending upon what sort of system the OP has, a dead video card or bad memory certainly will elicit fault code beeps from the motherboard and prevent booting.
