If it's anything like shipping to Canada, UPS may charge ridiculous brokerage fees for the receiver, so try not to use it at least for inexpensive things. USPS doesn't.

I ship packages there all the time. I looked into UPS and FedEx one time when I was concerned about the contents getting there safely and undamaged, but it was ridiculously expensive. I just use USPS and it has worked fine every time so far (knock on wood ... package en route as we speak). I would cough up the extra dollar or two to have your package insured though.
