shipping to canada?

I need some tips on the best way to ship something to Canada, I am in a deal to sell a guy in Canada my cell phone. I've never shipped anything to Canada before but I've heard the best way is via USPS and to declare it as a gift so the reciever will avoid taxes.

Here is the service chart:
http://ircalc.usps.gov/speed.asp?Country=Canada&Pounds=2&Ounces=0&cmdSubmit=Continue&Contents=1

how should I ship it? Parcel post? Global Piroity? How does delivery confirmation and insurance work in this case?

air post is relatively fast/cheap, but doesn't offer any type of proof of delievery (AFAIK) , but i think you can insure it

i am not going to tell you to lie to avoid duty/taxes, which is why i quit selling/buying canadians (except those that live near the border and get PO boxes at USPS offices in the US)

Are you shipping something or someone you don't want anymore? (just wondering why anyone would ever need to send something to Canada unless they just wanted rid of it)

Air post = USPS?

Send the cellphone as a gift. I believe that another with a value of $60 will get taxed, thats if customs even checks it. If you send USPS, CanadaPost will drop it off. Pack it really well because CanadaPost breaks everything.
