Shipping Rates with Newegg...

Now I know that most (none) of you do not live in Alaska and have ordered from newegg but would like your "advice or guess" anyways. I order a Video Card and it costs $20 to ship it. And yet when I order a Video Card, Motherboard, Memory, Floppy Drive, RAM, and two sound cards only cost $32 for all the shipping.

Do you think it is possible for that to be that low or do you think the website is messed up? I am sure I will find out when they confirm the order but am bored and you like y'alls opinion...

Newegg has been known to be a little funky with shipping. Usually the shipping cost for a product is listed before you add it to your cart. You can give them a call and to try to get lower shipping if you have problems. They ship using FedEx. $20 just might be (or close to) what FedEx charges.

Its definitely possible for it to be that low. Its much cheaper for them to send a stuff a stick of RAM in the box for a video card then it is for them to put it in its own box. Plus, it is incentive for you to buy more!

Newegg's "shipping costs" are used to adjsut pricing . . . when they need to move stuff, instead of discounting it, they will provide free shipping and when items are in heavy demand, shipping will be higher. For example, at one point they had video cards that differed only in the amount of RAM, and the price of the 64 vs 32 was only $10 higher in cost, but also $10 higher in shipping.

I agree. I purchased a 16x burner a few weeks ago and the 20x burner was $10 bucks more and another $5 more for shipping. Why does it cost 5 bucks more to ship the faster one. They are the same weight and size
