Shipping in 2013

To say that I have been spoiled by Amazon Prime free 2nd day shipping is an understatement (especially when most orders arrive the next day for me). However, how it is that, in 2013, I can order (from a different website) a case for an iPhone (picture the size of it) on June 24th and it does not ship until July 10th and will not arrive until July 18th!?!

Actually is it just me or has shipping company efficiency greatly increased in say, the past 5ish years? I remember ordering something from pretty much anywhere and having to wait a minimum of 2 weeks. Now I tend to get stuff within a week, occasionally even within like 2 days. If I'm lucky and it ships from a Toronto warehouse it's usually under 2 days.

I remember when I moved into my house about 4 years ago and I made a huge monoprice order for cabling, keystone jacks and stuff like that. Took about 2 months! That was coming from the states mind you.

Many of the low cost accessories come over by boat.
Orders are assembled from resellers, boxed, shipped to the dock; onloaded in a 1-2 week period.
another 1-2 weeks for the sharks to starve;
Another week to clear customs; break down the pallet boxes,and send it to you.

You are getting fresh off the presses/sweat shops
