What are you shipping? are you in Canada, or USA?

If you are in Canada, buying something Online, from the US, check out
BorderFree

If you are in the US, shipping something, just send it Fedex, or some other big name courier.

Don't use UPS, the person in Canada will get charged with their insane brokerage fee on top of the custom fees. Use FedEX or USPS, and mark the item as a gift if you can.

Yeah from what i gather I should use USPS & apparently Im supposed to say it is either a gift or a low value item so the person im sending it to doesnt get taxed.-Is this true?

DO NOT USE UPS. I was charged $60 in fees for a $100 package

If you send something via USPS, there will be a $5 fee PLUS the person in canada will get charged tax on whatever value you write down on the package (so say it's worth $100...the post office will charge him about $20 before he can even pick up his package). If you mark it as gift he should only get the $5 fee I think, and that may even be waived.

I have no experience with fedex for US-to-Canada shipping.
