Shipping computer in original case box

Hi, I was about to ship my computer to myself in the original case box but I wanted to make sure I wasn't about to ruin my computer by doing so. I plan to remove all the components except for the mother board, cpu (without heatsink), and power supply and taking those with me on the plane. I will ship the computer in it's original case box with the motherboard and power supply in it. Is this still not enough? Do I have to remove the motherboard, power supply, and cpu or get a special box for the computer? Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

Should be fine. There should be more then enough padding in the original box to prevent the case from getting damaged. Removing the cards and CPU cooler is a good idea.

I've done this many times using suitcases and checking it in when I go on a flight - I generally pack the inside of the case fairly tightly with sheets/pillowcases so that nothing inside moves around. Taking the stuff out as you did is necessary. I broke a videocadr once by not removing it (stupid, I know) and another time I got some big dents in my case by not putting enough packing around the outside of the case (inside the suitcase). Since you are packing it in the box with styrofoam around it that's not an issue. Sounds like your good to go.
