Shipping and insurance

What's the point of buying insurance when you ship something? Shouldn't the carrier be responsible for the package if it's damaged anyways.

I agree, but sadly that is not the case.

If you pay for service to an item and if it's damaged while they have possession of said object then they should be responsible. Seems like something small claims could handle.

I'd rather spend the $5 on insurance then wrestlying with the likes of UPS or FedEx in court.

Its really a way for them to make money.
When you do have to file for the insurance, its really a big hassle
