Shipping an iPad

Paypal can pull from your bank even if funds are withdrawn from paypal. So that is pointless unless you plan to close your bank account right after.

Sold an iPad on ebay and was wondering if it would be ok to ship it out via a UPS express box (size Medium-15" x 11" x 3"). Also I should wait for the Paypal funds to clear, then withdraw them and then ship it out right?

Here is the box I speak of:

http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/resources/ship/packaging/supplies/boxes.html

Whichever way you decide to ship it, make sure you do the following:

1. jot down the serial # of the ipad
2. take pics of the ipad (all angles, with it on/off, etc)
3. pics of it packed in the box
4. pack it well
5. get a tracking # and receipt
6. pray like mad you don't get scammed

Regarding when you ship it out, not sure on that. From the buyer's point of view, he's already paid and you should ship out ASAP as good courtesy/etiquette. However, I know it's scary to ship out before you have the funds at your disposal.

I thought they just pull out any available funds in your PP account, and if that doesn't cover the balance, they will just put a negative balance in your PP account until you fund it.

Its brand new, unsealed in box. So taking pictures of that should be ok?

I've done all the following, and it didn't matter.

Paypal nearly ALWAYS sides with the buyer, so if they return a brick to you, you'll have to refund most likely. Best of luck to you.

Fedex has a box specially designed for a tablet that you can purchase at the fedex office store. It has padding built in and while I dont know the cost, has been an effective way for us to ship tablets around the country.

So glad I only sell junk on ebay, and have had good experiences for the most part. Funny how much people pay for junk.

This is correct, paypal will not pull funds from your bank account without permission.

You are a brave man selling electronics on ebay OP. Hope you don't get shafted.

That's all I ever sell on eBay. I've been selling for nearly 15 years and I've never an issue with a chargeback, scammer or thief.

Oh, and I use Paypal all the time for my payments, and again, never an issue with a chargeback or scammer.
