I used to drop off bulk mail at the USPS office and I have seen packages with baby chickens and honey bees. Havn't seen any with dogs.

c. Live adult fowl, 526.4.
d. Live scorpions (only under limited circumstances), 526.5 and Exhibit 526.5.
e. Other small harmless cold-blooded animals, 526.6 and Exhibit 526.6.
f. Dead animals or parts of animals, 526.7 and Exhibit 526.7.

However...

525.2 Live Warm-Blooded Animals
The following are examples of other live warm-blooded animals that are nonmailable:
a. Cats or kittens.
b. Dogs or puppies.
c. Guinea pigs.
d. Hamsters.
e. Mice.
f. Rabbits.
g. Rats.
h. Squirrels and flying squirrels.

I shipped my dog from California to Oklahoma a few years back on the airlines and I think they charged about $150 for it. Puppy was a little upset but got over it real quick. ;)
