Shipping a 1U box through Europe

I need to ship a 1U server from UK to Denmark for hosting. A lot of the usual routes of postage are surprisingly expensive for such a large package and I was wondering who you would normally get your servers shipped with in the continent?

Something Like UPS? Private Freight Company?

UPS want £130. Comparatively the firm that ships the box to me can do it for £20 to my house and ship it to the same place in Denmark for £40. So comparatively UPS are charging me £90 to pick it up from my home, seems a little steep.

I suspect the right firm can do this for about half that price I just have no experience of shipping servers across to the continent and was hoping someone had done it before me and found a reasonably priced option.

I gather the server is important?. If it is you should use Fedex, UPS or DHL. I would not cheap out on shipping, packages have been know to "disappear" all of a sudden. At least if you use Fedex, UPS or DHL, its insured...

Also mind weight, if the package is over 25kg Postdanmark will not touch it with a ten foot pole. Result, you'll have to pick it up in Copenhagen...
