Wish I could get some on tap. I discovered this gem of a brew when I visited Austin. Can only get it bottled out here in WA.

had a pint last night

it's AWESOME out of a keg....my brother has been removed from Texas for two years now, and it's one of the things he misses

It's not a bad beer. I seem to recall Shiner making a Hefeweizen that's really tasty.

hum... am I the only one doesn't really like it? I mean, it's good and all, but for a microbrewery, I had better.
Firestone, Stone, Alaskian, Anchor Steam are preferred.

especially for the Shiner Hefeweizen, I think Widmer makes are a much better Hef. Heck, even Pyramid is better (which I think is lightyears behind Widmer)

I'll toast to that also. Being in Southwest LA, that is pretty much the only beer I drink. Tastes better on tap though imo.

One thing I have never understood is why I pay premium fot it. It'a a fukcing domestic beer for me!!!! I live in Houston!

I've had this arguemnt with several waiters and bar tenders in the Houston area. I don't mind if they label it as a 'premium' but I can't stand it when then try to tell me it's "imported". I actually had a waitress try and explain to me how imported beers have to go through several distributors and the price gets jacked up accordingly. When I pointed out that the brewery is 2 hours away... she didn't have much else to say.

pff what do you drink while you're making yourself a hard liquor drink?

What do you drink while you are opening your beer? Get a glass of ice and poor some Whiskey in it, don't see much time to be drinking a beer during that time.

Awesome brew. Since I have moved out of Texas up to Pennsylvania about a year ago I have had to go without my Shiner Bock, though 🙁
They have an okay regional beer up here called Yuengling Lager, but it isn't even close to how good Shiner is.
