HEY EVERYONE. I HAVE A COMPAQ EVO N1000C LAPTOP AND THE SHIFT KEY DOES NOT APPEAR WORK. IT IS EXTREMELY ANNOYING AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO FIX IT. SORRY BOUT THE CAPS.
THANKS
SLIP
Caps Lock does not disable the shift key - it simply reverses it. Shifts made when Caps Lock is on become lower case. This is a hardware problem that may not be user solveable on a laptop.
There are two shift keys, and if both do not work, it is not a simple mechanical failure, but probably deeper where the two signals meet to send a scan code. It could require a keyboard replacement.
