Shift key getting stuck.

So here is a strange issue I'm facing with the shift key on my keyboard. When I keep it pressed for more than a few seconds and release it, their is this system notification sound, and while the key is depressed, it will act as it is still pressed.
If I'm gaming and press the shift key for a long duration to keep my character running, it will keep running even when I release the key.
It will get back to normal when I toggle the key once. I have checked and the key does not keep physically pressed. The issue is same with both shift keys. And a search online reveals that the issue has been faced by a lot of people. Yet I could not find a proper solution for it.
I was wondering if anyone has faced this problem.
I'm using windows 8.1 and the keyboard I'm using is this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004SUILFO?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00.

have you checked that sticky keys is turned off?
start menu > search for programs and files > "change how your keyboard works"
uncheck turn on sticky keys
