Shift+Click to open new windows in IE/Firefox no longer works

Meanwhile right click + Open in new window still works. I've tried both the left and right shift+Left click and to no avail. Google search doesn't help much. Wondering if I'm missing something here. I've got a Logitech MX3100 keyboard/mouse set. Other than not being able to open a new window, shift works fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Never know how much you miss using something until it doesn't work anymore Haha
