Interesting, wonder what they did about windows. I think there is such thing as transparant aluminium so could be what they used. I don't have any windows myself to worry about though, the floor and ceiling is where my challenges will be especially where the racks are as they extend from floor to ceiling. I think this idea may be a pipe dream the more I think about it, without a HUGE overhaul of the room. I should probably concentrate on further securing my wired network before I even get into faraday cages. I imagine most of the spy stuff that is connected to the internet will prioritize the wired network anyway.

I'm even toying with a different approach to my network, fully private network, and only a few things can get out such as a www proxy, and Linux repository servers etc. Allow stuff as needed, block the rest.

The paint is interesting too. May actually be the easiest thing in my case. I imagine you'd want to embed some kind of mesh here and there so you can ground it. Guessing it's a lead based paint or something. It might be similar to what they used in our hospital OR room. Then they came to cry to IT because the wifi was really spotty. Do you want to block the signals, or not? lol.

And yeah I'd definitely ground any other type of shielding I put up as well. My biggest issue will be doing the floor, can't really do it as it would have had to be done before the racks are even installed. But I may just do the ceiling/walls anyway and go from there. Will need to ground it at multiple points. In fact I need to read up more on proper equipement grounding in general. There's a whole science behind it to ensure proper protection from lightening strikes etc.
