It's harder to win the lottery though. Becoming a successful businessman who makes tons of money isn't easy, but it sure beat the odds of winning the lottery.

I'm not 100% sure about this because I don't watch the show, but I think the good looking wives predate the big money. However, the long hair and beards weren't there and according to my wife who watches the show they all were good looking guys.

So, the money rolled in and they grew their hair out and the wives stuck around in spite of it.

EDIT: btw-they just about all have college degrees and one had a full ride with a football scholarship.

I like how people try to justify such couples, and think the wife HAS to be a gold digger. God forbid they actually like each other. T9D is just bitter because he can't land a hottie so it MUST be the money. There's no possible way those guys are actually likeable.

The whole over-the-top redneck part is really just for the show. If you watch the first season, you can tell they're just starting to grow the beards/hair.

Duck Dynasty is just another scripted reality show. It is entertaining, but a lot of that show is total BS.
