And she's already looking like a garbage can!

Damn, spidey, clean that car out or I'm going to take the keys from you!!

BTW, that throttle is just weird at first. Nice clutch and very short throw, too.

You should really take it out 22...left onto Chamberlain...left onto Old Brownsboro...then left onto 329.

Damn nice drive for being so close to the city.

so far so great. The torque is unbelievable.

That being said the motor does want to be short shifted some what at around 6300 it seems (feels like she loses some after 6K). Brembo brakes have great feel. Tires are sticky.

torque steer is still pretty strong but you gotta get used to it. When truly "driving" the VSA (traction control) must be off otherwise there is little communication between driver and throttle. I've smoked quite a few nice cars but then again they didn't know how to drive. ;)

Tranny is ultra smooth and slick...hardly even there...silky.

Stereo absolutely rocks for a stock system. DVD audio is great and built-in XM has me hooked.

I can feel a little extra stiffness in the suspension vs. the automatic although she still is heavy and meant to be a "sports sedan" and not a sports car. I'm used to true sports car feel but the added room and creature comforts are nice.

All in all a fabulous car. But I will say that the 330 and g35 are still cars that must be driven in this price range. to each his own.

Sweet! Thanks for the reply...

I am seriously considering a TL, but I also like the TSX. I've been reading the TL forums, and a lot of people are having problems with the headliner behind the moonroof falling down, or becoming separated from the metal. No problems with that yet at all for you?

I've driven a 2003 330i, and it really wasn't all that impressive to me. Sure it was quick, but I'm not overly impressed with the "BMW-ness" of owning a BMW. I want gadget and gizmos as well, and the TL certainly delivers in that area :)

I'm not so sure about that... the TSX is pretty nice as well. My main gripe (and probably the only gripe) is that the rear seat doesn't fold down at all in the TL. I know there's a passthru, but it'll never hold my snowboard and isn't really useful. Other than that though, yes the TL has the TSX in most features, but the TSX looks better, IMHO.

Hater!

:)

not on purpose :p if it wasn't FWD I'd sport one, I just dislike fwd (personal preference)

That would be my only comlaint so far, but the value and other features I couldn't pass up. I've had plenty of sports cars. Its time for a little comfort.

Can anybody comment on the headlights and folks flashing their brights?

please get your lights aligned! Having HID's is bad enough for other drivers, but having poorly aligned HID's is like driving with a naval strobe mounted to the front of your car -- sure, you can see fine. You get an especially well-lit veiw of my car careening into your lane while I'm busy clawing at my eyes.

Careful what you read on internet forums. Lots of whiney beaotches out there.

I can't be a fanboi and say "TL RULES ALL!" but it is a must drive in its class. Just wish I could combine the TL/G35/330 into a single car!!!!

I went car shopping last week for a friend of mine and we concluded the TL was the best in that price category.

The G35 interior is really cheap looking, BMW too expensive, IS300 nothing special, Mazda 6 not quite up to the TL and didn't look at the A4 (friend's preference). The TL with the NAV system was exceptionally sweet. It is definitely an option worth getting IMO.

I actually don't like the brakes on the TL. They are too grabby. Torque still is evident. Overall I liked it, but in that price range I'd look at something else.

I absolutely love the TL and TSX. Trying to figure out how i'll afford one of them... :D

With ~2k down, how much do you think a lease would set me back on either?

I believe 5k down is required for a lease on the TL, and then it is 399 a month. 12k miles a year.

no money down on my lease. nada...nothing. I'd never put any cash out of pocket.

Hmm.... that's interesting. So lease terms vary by dealer? What is your payment then?
