Picked her up last night.

Holy mackeral what a car! The DVD-Audio and sound system are just incredible. I've never heard a stock stereo sound so good! The torque is insane and the tranny is oh so smooth. 'Havin fun just learning all the little bells/whistles it has (bluetooth, built-in XM radio, etc)

Went with the manual and boy am I glad I did. For some reason though everybody keeps flashing their lights at me, they must think I have my brights on. The headlights and visibility are great but now I'm concerned some cop is going to pull me over for thinking I have my brights on. Pics will be up tonight.

-edit- 100 miles, still babyin'

pics - 'bout 120k each

surprising isn't it? I'm actually really impressed with the amount of torque. Just a little throttle even at low rpms invokes a gut wrenching pull.

The TL is one of the best values on the road today, no doubt. Just don't think you can keep up with a BMW through the twisties (assuming the BMW driver knows how to handle his/her machine).

Hater!

:)

not on purpose :p if it wasn't FWD I'd sport one, I just dislike fwd (personal preference)

That would be my only comlaint so far, but the value and other features I couldn't pass up. I've had plenty of sports cars. Its time for a little comfort.

Can anybody comment on the headlights and folks flashing their brights?

From my experience w/ Acura (girlfriend drives a TSX) they have some bright HID's. Also, Acura does not have an auto leveling feature that other manufacturers have (Audi & BMW are the ones I know of) that will automatically level the lights based on the angle of the front end. So it may be that they are just really bright HID's and/or maybe that they are aligned a bit to high and shining in people faces. If it becomes a problem just go to the dealer and have them re-align the lights.

Btw, congrats on the new car.. very very nice. Based on the reading i've done about it and the visit to the dealer to look at it (not to mention the previously mentioned TSX) I am starting to realy like what Acura has done. May become a replacement for my audi!

How many Bimmer owners even care about the twisties anymore? I don't understand this FWD/RWD debate, because I'd guess 90% of BMW and future TL owners aren't taking their car to Willow Springs.

People used to always flash their brights at me in my CL, I think it's just the nature of their HIDs.

One thing to note, the new TL HID's, much like the TSX, are not the same as the old CL/TL HID's. Not sure of the mechanical differances (aside from the new ones being projectors) but they have a more Euro (read bmw audi) look to them than the old ones.

I don't understand this FWD/RWD debate
Its the nature of talking about cars. If there isn't any debate then what fun is it?
:)

I did drive the 330 and G35. I chose the TL for me, not somebody else or because of a magazine's review.

Be sure to fill up the gas tank and take it to the dealership and have them adjust the aim of the headlights

BTW, congrats on the new car! I won't even challenge you to a race with my wheezy 160HP. ;) But, mine's fast enough for me. I'd like a better stereo, though. The standard Mazda radio just sounds flat.

I just test drove an 04 TL yesterday. Fell in love instantly. If I can find the color I want, I'm going to pick one up this weekend.

BTW - I think a lot of the FW/RW debate needs to take into consideration not only how a person drives, but where they live. I am in Indiana (just outside Chicago) and there is no way I would drive a RW car in our winters. I tried that before with a Mustang and never again... Plus, there are no "twisties" in Indiana. Trust me, it's all long straight flat roads where ever you go...
