10-7 = Out of service. Got that,

10-85 = My address is... Don get that one.

If you have a 10-95 that's 10-85, you have a dead animal that's possibly rabid. 10-4?

Well, another issue is that different jurisdictions use different 10 codes. Always created havoc when California cops would transfer up here. Made for some fun calls though. Then you get into the other codes which aren't even remotely similar and *boggle*.

now the question is... was it on when it got wet when in the container? because no water-frying damage would happen if the system had no power present. so nothing should have fried when shorted by the sea water.

Water should never have entered the compartment however the water tight door was not completely screwed down. It was wet before it was slammed off the rack. There's a camera in there and we're going through the recorded video now. :)

It's amazing how fast the tally goes up from a simple mistake.

The PC was in fact on and running when this happened. It's happened in the past and we just reboot it remotely with a thing called a rebooter bar. When this didn't work (the rebooter bar actually was not responding!) things got interesting.

Wow. LGA 775s are FRAGILE..... what tore the chunks out of the PCIE slots?

MS Dawn.... what's the CPU, and are you interested in selling it as-is for really really cheap? ;) :D

The CPU (may) be tested. Of course if I have to take responsibility for what happens (to another PC used to test stuff) I'm not going to do it. :Q

It's a 3.6GHz P4 90nm core with 2MB L2 cache. Not a bad chip. It's also not mine to sell. If it gets marked for disposal I'll have someone intercept it and bring it to me. Probably worth a drink. ;)

Maybe I've had too much cough medicine...but the water dropletts look like a face in a Picasso'esque kind of way.

UPDATE:

The CPU is alive! Humming along at 4.05GHz. Tough little fellow those LGA's. :D

Because she lives on a cruise ship.

And I can personally vouch for this level of damage being possible from a little bit of tossing around - modern equipment is very weak comparatively. I should know, because I get to throw it across the room.

Early P4's and P3's and earlier stuff, that ****** is almost unstoppable.
