Everyone raves about it, am I the only one that absolutely hates it???
Which part do you hate; the meat, the mashed potatoes, the vegetables, or the cooking them in a round pan?

If you have some weird texture objection to mashed potatoes, or if you're violently vegetarian, I guess that's the way it is. I was pretty OCD about having food touch other food as a kid - Shepherd's Pie would have probably given me fits. But the problem is with you, not the food.

But if you dislike it because some recipes call for a seasoning you dislike, or because you've only ever had it at some pub where the cook drowned it in Worchestershire sauce, you're just being silly. (Yes, I know, the W is mandatory, but dadgummit, if you're cooking for yourself, there's nothing wrong with modifying a recipe so you like it better.)

I love it. Only problem is that I feel like it's going to take me a week to digest it. Don't eat it for lunch unless your afternoon plans involve copious amounts of napping.

I'll call it American Shepherd's pie. Or maybe Allen Shepherd's pie.

It isn't common to see ground lamb for sale in these parts.

You know the reason it's called Shepherd's pie is because it's got lamb, and shepherds herd sheep?

It's like making spaghetti bolognese with ramen.
