Shelf spacers/legs

Anybody know where I can find metal spacers that are like these Captiva legs at Ikea, only with the metal mounting bracket on both ends? I want to take the two horizontal shelf pieces from this TOFTERYD unit but then use those Captiva legs instead of the interior wood pieces to space the two shelves 8 inches apart. The Captivas would work if I could screw into their bottom from below, but they're solid metal on the bottom of the foot and I don't have a threading kit.

My alternative right now is to maybe use metal closet rods cut to 8" lengths with ends like this on top and bottom, with a single screw to set the rod into the end piece.

I'd obviously prefer something made specifically for this, but I can't for the life of me find anything.

Thought I'd post a pic of the finished product. I went with the TOFTERYD unit as mentioned above, and just got some closet rod and mounting hardware from Lowe's. Turned out pretty well, I think.

It seems like they had white, but I don't remember for sure. There were quite a few things I didn't even really look at because I needed a heavy-duty rod. The thin expandable rods wouldn't work for what I wanted, so I found the rod I needed, and then found the matching wall mounts. The rod I bought was 1/8" thick stainless steel.
