Guys I have a sealed 5 lb. bag of whey in a foil sealed container (I purchased a couple of bags 3 maybe 4 years ago before I switched to a better product). There is absolutely no date or markings on the bag, and it got buried behind some other storage items.

Do you think it is safe to try and use this stuff?

they just have to put expiration dates on protein by law. that stuff like never goes bad. i visit GNC when they have things about to expire and get it for like 85% off. otherwise, they just ship it back to their vendor, who just stamps a new date on it, and sends it back :)

If it was left outside or in a hot warehouse/garage I'd say it might be bad, but if it's been sitting inside, sealed up, it's probably still good.

Expiration date on whey is usually 2 years out from manufacture... but I've used it after 1 year expired and was fine. It's not like it goes bad immediately after a certain date but it probably loses potency... not that it's something I could test for.

What others have said. If it was in heat, the protein could have broken down a little. I don't think it will hurt you necessarily though. I'd open it and give it the ol' sniff test. If it smells OK, it's probably fine.
