A score is sheet music, and I guess you could say that with a piece with only one part, the sheet music would technically be the score, but sheet music is not always a score.

That, and a score is used in reference to the same thing for something such as a musical, where the score is usually sold moreso than a violin piece etc.

If you've had even the tiniest amout of musical training and still refer to the notes on the page as "symbols" then i would say you need to find a new teacher.

Nah I'm thinking about taking piano classes next semester and i've gotta sign up for my classes and was looking around. I might do it, iunno. lots of good music I'd like to play on piano
