Well, as I said, the other day, I'm in the search (well not till june now) for a better It job in the CT area.

So I posted My resume on my website for critiquing. My GF's friend, who works maintaining the network for a local college, grabbed it and critiqued it, and sends me a copy of his, so I figure this guy's probly got alot of expierience, or some deep knowledge.

Well, it seems, that he's just a serious uh, BS'er, his work expierience is only at a bank,
his schooling is like 1 semester, at a local "tech" school, porter and chester. And his general back ground, is alot lamer than mine basically.

Well, guess I'll be fleshing out my resume a bit, and getting mcse, and brushing up a bit on linux, and come june, getting a real job.

You are guilty of the same thing I always am on resumes, underselling yourself. Be honest but don't be afraid to toot your own horn, and keep in mind you have to walk a fine line between wording your resume so a complete nontechnical person (hr) can read it and a technical person doesn't think you an idiot for listing obvious stuff.

well I'm talking about the other guy's resume. he has no "work" expierience with pc's just customer support. i've got that, hopefully, I can sell both aspects of myself, and get a much better job.

ArkAoss: Resumes are about more than just experience. Every aspect of a resume has to be made to impress the potential employer, from spelling and grammar right down to the paper you print it on. All those things to put on there are great, but just make sure you have everything else too. Then you will have a sure shot at any job you apply for.
