its both parties responsibilities to prevent unwanted pregnancies and as a guy I also want to cover my ass to make sure that a girl doesnt try to get pregnant on purpose to screw with my life or to try and fix a failing relationship

Paranoid much? Or just a bad judge of character?

Call me paranoid if you want but I like to make sure that I will only have a kid when I'm ready to have one. I've heard stories before of women purposely getting pregnant to try and fix a failing relationship. I know that I can rely on myself to take proper precautions and it helps to eliminate some of the risk of your partner screwing something up.

Maybe you should just keep to dating responsible, mentally balanced girls.

Or maybe when you're both drunk and playing around, even a mentally balanced girl might just decide not to mention she missed a pill or two that month, if she really wants to get laid that night. And even when taken correctly, the pill isnt 100% effective. Then again, neither is the pill plus a condom. You might think the chances of both of them failing are really, really small, but it happens. And yes, I know someone it happened to... my parents, when they had me (I see it as one more instance of my being a determined bastard, even at an early age ;) ).

Both men and women aren't settled down at in early adulthood. Some women want to change that right away and arent overly picky about with who... and all they have to do is "forget" to take the pill once or twice. Personally, I'd rather not put control of it entirely in her hands until it is with a woman that I want to spend the rest of my life with, if in fact that ever happens. On the other hand, man cannot live on blowjobs alone. So, until then, I keep it wrapped up, and use another form of contraception that is mutually agreeable with my girlfriend (with the last one, it was the shot).

Dunno, don't think I'd mind trying. :|

Eventually, you start to really, really want to do something with your hips. And the woman will not be happy if you act upon this impulse. BJs are fun and all, but they are not the real thing.

BTW, what is the problem your wife has with giving head?

For casual sex, yes, I can understand using a condom regardless of what the woman is doing on her end.

Like I said before, however, maybe you should rethink the girlfriend you've chosen if you can't trust her to take her pill every day because you think she wants to trap you in your relationship.

Maybe it's just me, but when I have a girlfriend she's usually mature enough to handle taking a birth control pill or otherwise if that's the method we're using for birth control. IMO, the only reason to use a condom while in a relationship if the girl is on the pill is because you don't trust where she goes when she's not with you.

Hell if I know. Doesn't like getting, either (and nothing wrong with technique, I mean, she LIKES it, she doesn't doesn't like it).

We both grew up in a really fundie religion, though. She seems to carry around more baggage in relation to that than me (although she loudly proclaims how she never really bought into it). Dunno, probably has something to do with that.

Oh, is this the anti-menopause patch? I heard about this. Older women wear it to help supplement their hormones, as their bodies produce less and less, naturally.

So how old is your GF?

The absolutely BESTEST form of birth control is abstinence... but that is not a consideration for most.

Second best... and IUD.. no hormones, not pills, no watching the calender... and it is good for five years...

But doctors wont give it to women who do not already have children... well, to be honest, they dont want to give it to anyone anymore unless you are firm in your desire for one. My guess is that because it is good for five years... no one makes money off it every month.

:)

i asked for an iud but my doctor refused to give me one saying it will cause cancer and make me sterile.

Your doctor lied to you, or is misinformed... there is no hormones in an IUD... what would cause you cancer?... the ONLY risk in having an IUD (besides your body rejecting a foreign object, which could be said about anything) is that in women that have never had children, there was a slight risk that it would puncture the utereus... but they are plastic now, no longer copper. So, the risk is even less.

You dont have to pay for pills every month, or a patch every six months... there are no creams or jellys to buy and you dont have to have a check up every few months... it goes in and is good for 5 years or 5 million miles.. whichever happens first.

No one makes money on them every month.. that is why I think they dont like to give them to women.

:)

edit: I take it back... there is a slight risk of pelvic infection.. usually caused by the body rejecting a foreign object.

my doctor was SOOOOOOOO against giving me that or a diaphragm which is retarded since i have had so many troubles with the pill (like bleeding EVERY day).

But they have it so they can exercise regularly. :)

You dont start using fat storage until you've been exercising for at least twenty minutes, so I dont think this will help his girlfriend ;)

Seriously tho, congrats on the patch. My GF's been on the pill since b4 we started stating (3 years counting know), but for health reasons, and she tried the patch but it messed with her period so she went back.
 to you

Why is smoking a problem with the patch? My gf has been on the patch for about 4 months so I'm curious. No real complaints here. Other than she seems a bit more moody than with the pill

How much does an IUD cost, just wondering, it works for 5 years, so its gotta cost a decent amount, comparatively to the pill or patch since its a replacement....

I believe the exam, insertion, and followup range from $200-500, but depends on if you get a hormone-releasing IUD (Mirena; replaced approx. every 5 years) or a Copper T380 IUD ( Paragard; replaced approx. every 10 years), as I have described in above posts.
