Right outside my gym is a shawarma place and I find it hard to not be tempted as I'm always really hungry immediately after a workout and have a 25min walk before I get home.

I'm wondering: whole wheat pita, grilled chicken, lots of veggies, hummus, garlic and for $6 and no dishes. What's not to like?

(I also take a protein shake as soon as I get home)

Nothing really, just see how many calories it is and make sure it doesn't put you over your daily limit.

Unless the pita throws you off of a "diet", I think it's one of the best options out there. Or order a fatoosh salad with chicken shawarma on top. Here in metro Detroit there's a shawarma place on every corner seemingly. I like to sneak one into the movies. :D

Do the protein shake first. Fat slows down assimilation. You take whey protein because it assimilates quickly its the most bioavailable protein taking it with a high fat meal works against that.. thats why i always do whey protein right after workout and then a big meal like an hour later.

Take it after training and see how this affects your weekly average weight after 3-4 weeks.
